How To Minimise And Hide Split Ends

Hey Lovelies.

We all know only too well what its like to look in the mirror each day to a scarecrow head gawking back at you. Split ends truly are a nightmare! Should your hairdresser be booked up for the next month and split ends are taking over your head like something from The Strain, do not panic: here are some quick fixes to keep them well-hid until you reach the sanctuary of the hair salon.

1.Ditch The Elastic

Having little time in the morning and opting for a ponytail may seem like a good idea – but not if you are using elastic bands. These are the key offenders for causing frayed hair. To avoid breakage, make sure you use soft and stretchy fabric bands or Scunci hair tools.

2.Cut Down Heat

Its better to cut down on use of heat styling, but if you are like me and simply cannot go without the straighteners or tongs, opt for heated tools with thermal heat protection to keep damage to a minimum.

3.Choose Carefully

Are you using the right brush for your hair type? This is such an important thing to remember as the wrong brush can do endless hair harm. Should your hair be weak choose a soft bristle brush, and always, ALWAYS brush softly.

4.Shampoo and Conditioner

Again, take some time in researching and buying the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type and condition. Should your locks be in a sorry state (again, like mine at present) invest in a good leave in conditioner such as Label.m’s Leave-in Conditioner, (Diamond Dust range) £18.25.

5.Towel Dry

I know, this is not always possible when we have overslept and have to leave the house, like twenty minutes ago!. However, try to towel dry where possible. Your hair will thank you.

7.Serums/Oil

Perfect for sealing up those pesky split ends, hero hair serums and oils are an actual God send. Try Aesop’s Shine.

8.Hair Mask

Should your locks be in need of a little extra TLC, use an overnight hair mask. This will provide vital nourishment so that your hair feels thoroughly rejuvenated by the morning. Hooray!
