Beauty Editor’s Weekly Favourites: Saturday, 27th April, 2019

Hey Lovelies!

I hope you are all having an awesome weekend. Here is my round-up of this week’s favourite beauty products:

1.MAC LIPGLASS / ELECTRIC WONDER, £15.50 (3.1 ml), www.asos.com

I’m totally obsessed with MAC’s new Lipglass. This highly pigmented lip gloss is amazing because you can either opt for the key trend of the high-gloss finish or achieve a subtler effect. The gloss looks incredible on its own and over you lippy, will condition your pout – and with a shade called Rock Starz, who can resist? The lip gloss is available in 5 gorgeous shades.

2.Beuti Skincare Beuti Sleep Elixir, £45, www.amazon.co.uk

This is one product my skin will never tire of. Seriously, I cannot rate this enough. Touted for being a favourite of the Duchess of Cambridge (and apparently now Meghan Markle’s too), this facial oil offers some exceptional skin-loving qualities. The natural elixir is loaded with 14 precious plant oils that work together to reduce inflammation, nourish, smoothen and revitalise the skin. The result is a magnificently glowing complexion of beauty. Within a week of using this elixir I (and everyone around me) noticed a significant improvement in my skin. I have never looked back. This product should be on every beauty editor’s list of favourites.

3.The Inkey List Q10 Serum, £4.99, www.cultbeauty.co.uk

The reason this reaches the list is that it’s a no-fuss, targeted treatment that delivers the necessary ingredient at an affordable price. Q10 is so important in your skincare routine, due to the fact that it offers warrior-like protection against environmental damage, minimises fine lines, all whilst thoroughly hydrating the skin. Yaass!

My skin seems to forever suffer from being oily and also the treat of dry patches. As soon as I believe I’ve eradicated them for good and breathe a sigh of relief, they return from the dead for a repeat performance. So, when I discovered this new product from IT Cosmetics, I was literally beside myself with joy (yes, a little sad, maybe). It Cosmetics truly deliver on their promise – this lotion provides 72 hours of hydration. It deals with dryness and moisturises without causing an oily riot on your skin.

This almost weightless liquid is readily absorbed into the skin, taking with it a host of highly nourishing skincare ingredients that really take care of your complexion. Infused with ceramides, glycerine and cactus flower, the formula offers antioxidants, moisture-locking properties and nourishment. This liquid ensures your skin looks healthy and luminous. Perfect for the summer sun. Verdict: Impressed!

2.Kiehl’s Ultra Facial Oil-Free Gel Cream, £24.50 (50ml), www.kiehls.co.uk

Enriched with Imperata Gylindrica Root Extract and Antarcticine to firmly lock in moisture. Once you apply this cream you will notice fast absorption and an immediate cooling effect.

This formula offers 4-hour hydration and effectively keeps control over shine. I love this!

They have cleverly combined 2 incredible ingredients of which work in unison to guarantee superior hydrating and moisturising capabilities, without the fear of clogged pore syndrome. B5 nurtures your skin and hyaluronic acid provides and maintains that much-needed moisture. This product is suitable for all skin types, but if you have oily skin, skip for joy!

3.SkinCeuticals Phyto-Corrective Gel, £51.75 (30ml), amazon.co.uk

Hey Lovelies!

I used to love the different flavoured lip glosses, so I’m stoked to hear they have made a comeback. Now we can have gloss for our lips, cheeks and eyes! Check out some of the best glosses around that have me totally smitten.

I am completely in love with this glossing lip plumper by Dior. It basically offers an ultra-gloss effect with amazing lip hydrating and plumping benefits. Available in 18 different colours with 3 shine effects from which to choose: sparkling, iridescent and sheer. I tried 765 UltraDior which provides a gorgeous pink sheen with subtle red undertones. A romance must-have for that special evening out.

2.Chanel Baume Essentiel (Sculpting) £33, 8g, www.chanel.com

Before you write this off the moisturising highlighting balm as a luxury item, the ‘Sculpting’ Baume Essentiel can be used for both the cheeks and eyes (saving you from nipping out to buy a separate product for the eyes). Suitable for all skin tones, this gorgeous glossy and delicate-pink shimmer reflects the light and looks incredible on both my cheekbones and eyelids. It is impossible to create an OTT look, but rather it provides a perfect dewy finish of which we all crave.

Wave Goodbye To Filters With 4 Of The Best Vegan Concealers

Hey Lovelies!

Should you be (like me) a lover of all things vegan, things have never looked better. The vegan makeup and skincare range are growing day by day. Check out 6 of the best vegan concealers that will guarantee no need for Instagram filters. I am certain you will fall in love with at least one of these awesome products!

1.100% Pure Long-Lasting Concealer, £25, www.revolve.com

100% pure concealer
Credit: Revolve

Okay, I understand this is a little more than we generally like to pay for our concealer – but this will last you far longer than a concealer pen, so it works out to be quite a reasonable buy. When I tried this product, I was totally smitten. Unlike many other concealers this formula feels so soft, blends perfectly into the skin and does NOT cause that dreaded cakey appearance that emphasises lines. For me, this is priceless.

The concealer is formulated with fruit and vegetable pigments, and is also water, sweat and oil resistant. It provides exceptional coverage that lasts.

100% Pure’s Concealer is available in 5 shades (the only downside). It is vegan and cruelty-free.

2.Gabriel Color Concealer, £15.96, www.amazon.co.uk

I tested out the Gabriel Dual Powder Foundation (from Gabriel Cosmetics) some time ago and was mega-impressed. The Color Concealer is pretty outstanding too. This extremely lightweight, water-based concealer achieves amazing coverage that looks totally natural. It literally blends in like a second skin. Additionally, being gluten-free and vegan is an immediate plus, too!

This concealer is available in 7 gorgeous shades.

3.Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Skin Concealer, £7.94 (MSRP: £20), www.skinstore.com

Firstly, let me just say how cool this brand’s name is! The concealer is usually priced at £20 but is currently available at the SkinStore (part of the lookfantastic group) for just £7.94!

The formula is creamy, yet lightweight and boasts skin-nourishing ingredients such as aloe, cocoa extract and vitamin E. These components work together to further minimise the appearance of dark circles and any imperfections. The outcome is perfect coverage with an even and healthy-looking skin tone you will adore. I love this!

This concealer is only available in 4 shades (again the only downside I can find).

4.Urban Decay Naked Skin Weightless Complete Coverage Concealer, £9.75 (5ml) (RRP: £19.50), www.feelunique.com

Urban decay weightless concealer
Credit: Feel Unique

Probably my favourite vegan concealer of all is this one by Urban Decay. The all-singing, all-dancing concealer ticks every possible box and ensures you look incredible even on your worst day ever. Most importantly, under eye dark circles are diminished without bringing out fine lines for a spotlight dance. Urban Decay have combined Japanese green tea to aid in this process.

Their formula also combines Matrixyl 3000, Litchiderm (sourced from lychees) and sodium hyaluronate that work in unison to enhance an ultimately brighter and more radiant finish.  This concealer is available in 12 shades and is currently 50% off – so grab one now!

5 Family Easter Activities For Under £20

Hey Lovelies!

Should you have little ones, by week two of the Easter holidays you will probably be going slightly mad. If climbing the walls trying to find something for your children to do (that does not continually break the bank) sound familiar – don’t panic! Here are some excellent ideas for things to do, ensuring Easter break is fun.

1.Geocaching: Cost: Totally FREE. Location: Anywhere. www.geocaching.com

Geocaching
Credit: geocaching

For those of you who aren’t in the know, Geocaching is like a universal treasure hunt. People hide short messages or their names on a piece of rolled up paper in all sorts of locations, such as under benches, at churches and so forth. Simply add the app, sign up and follow the clues. Although the treasure isn’t awesome, the process of going out and searching is a great way to bond, have fun and get some exercise – the best bit being it’s absolutely free to do, and your children will love it!

2.Cadburys & National Trust Easter Egg Hunt, Prices Depend on Location, (Over 260 Hunts Across England, Wales and N. Ireland), www.nationaltrust.org.uk

Combine fun facts about wildlife, solve clues and puzzles and grab yourself an egg! The National Trust and Cadbury’s have teamed up this Easter and are offering various nature trails brimming with adventure, of which end with the discovery of a yummy chocolate egg! The prices are generally quite affordable (£20 for a family on average, which includes the egg hunt price £2 and the cost of admission). For this you can enjoy an entire day of adventure. Should your little ones still appear to have masses of energy following the hunt, many places will also offer an array of activities and games – so there is no chance you can’t all get a good night’s sleep (and the grown-ups can enjoy a lie-in)! N.b: Different locations will have varying admission prices.

3.Trampoline Park: Approximately £7 Per Child, Various Locations, www.jumpwarriors.co.uk

Let your little ones jump off some steam while you sit in the viewing bay with a latte and your fave magazine. Some of best memories from my childhood are ones when my nan took me to the local trampoline park. These places have come on leaps and bounds since then (pardon the pun) and is one of the best past-times for my son. You can’t go wrong!

4.The Movies

Marvel endgame
Credit: Wikipedia

This is always a great way to spend a rainy afternoon – and I do believe the next Marvel film, Endgame (starring a man who actually is perfect, Chris Hemsworth) is soon to be released. However, i think it isn’t out until 25th of April. Still, in the meantime there are some funny movies for all of the family to watch. Surely nothing will be as bad as The Emoji movie!

5.Create Your Own Easter Egg Hunt, Cost: How Much You Spend on The Eggs – Lidl’s?

Southpark show easter egg hunt

Get your children involved in creating an Easter egg hunt. Whilst you are thinking up your Easter hunt clues, let your child do their own. This allows them to get totally creative, involved in something fun – and most importantly – off the Xbox!

Yes, it’s time to get ready for the warmer weather. Before you ditch those polo necks, make sure you are looking your best by using your face and neck roller. This brand-new cooling facial roller by IT Cosmetics is fantastic and treats the face, neck, décolleté and chest. Since using facial rollers I have noticed how much better my skin looks. 2.Biore UV Aqua Rich Watery Essence SPF 50+/PA++++, £10.81, www.amazon.co.uk

It is a myth that we only need sunscreen during summer. In fact, the sun is potentially just as damaging during spring as it is in the middle of August.

If you’ve read my recent posts, you will probably be tired of hearing about my k-beauty obsession. However, I can’t state enough just how good this is. The Aqua Rich Watery Essence is so lightweight and quickly absorbed that you won’t realise you are wearing it. Additionally, being an SPF50+ and combining super-nourishing skincare ingredients such as hyaluronic acid, royal jelly extract and citrus mix makes this particular sunscreen one not to miss. I use this product daily and love, love, love it!

3.The Hero Project Glow Drop Dry Touch Facial Oil Plus Vitamin C, £19 (30ml), www.mankind.com

Within 20 minutes you can achieve perfect brows (I mean PERFECT) and it lasts for several days. No mess, no fuss. Obviously, unless you have an endless supply of these boxes in your bathroom cabinet I wouldn’t ditch the pencil just yet. However, this is fab if you are planning a spring break away (or festival) and don’t want the hassle of reapplying the brows twice daily! This product is available in 6 shades.

5.Rimmel Insta-Fix & Matte Finishing Powder, £4.99, www.superdrug.com
