8 Easy Tips For Fuller Lips

We have yearned for fuller, fatter lips since Angelina Jolie took the world by storm, and with the ever-growing investment in the lip fillers (although, not always achieving the best results) there seems no end to this obsessional trend dying down. Thankfully, we do not need to risk disfiguring our face to acquire an envy-worthy pout. Follow these little tips and you will be well on your way to posting a #nofilterpout on your Instagram feed. Hooray!

1.Invest In A Scrub

Invest in a gentle yet thorough lip scrub to boost circulation, rid any dry skin, whilst smoothing and preparing your pout for a full plumpness we may have before only dreamt of achieving. Sugar scrubs are fabulous – I love Clinique’s Sweet Pots Sugar Scrub & Lip Balm (£15.50). Combining a two-in-one treatment with a scrub on one side and balm on the other, in one handy little pot.

2.Nourish With A Balm

Apply a hydrating lip balm and allow this to soak in and work its circulation boosting and hydrating magic to take effect (usually about 6-7 minutes). Buy the Clinique Sweet Pot and you will have the second step well and truly covered.

3.Don’t Forget The Base

A key trick to plumper lips is to firstly apply your foundation over your pout, creating the perfect base, of which also enhances their size. Furthermore, this allows your lipstick to remain intact and unbelievably smooth. Should you be looking for a new foundation, I recommend Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation, (£45). This foundation is renowned for it’s ability to act like a breathable second skin.

4.Optical Illusion

Many makeup artists swear by this tip and for good reason – it works. Simply dot a little highlighter to your cupid’s bow. This works to reflect light providing an immediately fuller result.

5.Lip Liners

If you have particularly thin lips, the general advice is to stay well away from bold dark colours as this will have a detrimental effect. The same goes for liners. Choose instead, a colour that is one shade darker than your natural lip colour. I love Charlotte Tilbury’s Lip Cheat Pink Venus Lip Liner, (£16).

6.Light-Reflecting Particles Are Key

Choose a lip gloss that contains light-reflecting particles which will in turn work like a dream to exaggerate the size of your lips. For more mature lips, detract from signs of feathering by applying gloss in the centre of the lips alone, avoiding the outer corners.

7.A little More Fake

Invest in a good lip plumping gloss to temporarily plump up your pout. If you are on a night out don’t forget to pop it in your clutch before you leave for the ball – btw, the magic will not last until midnight! I adore Transformulas Lip Volume, (£29.95).

8.Lipstick And More Liner

Next add your lipstick. For further enhancement apply a little white liner in a vertical line down the centre of your lips, dab and blend in. Right now, I’m totally obsessed with Mac’s Matte Lipstick, Velvet Teddy, (£16.50).
