Hey Lovelies!
There’s no denying it – should you want incredible skin, K Beauty is the place to look. Granted, they seem to have a rather long (10-step) beauty regime, of which may seem like a bit of a stretch. Particularly when the ugliness of Monday morning arrives and we have pressed the snooze button repeatedly until it finally gives up. Subsequently, we are rushing out of the door with evidence of strawberry jam on toast blotted on our cheeks (just me, then?), and forgetting to do our eyebrows. Can there be any possible way of squeezing in a 10-step routine? I think not.
However, not all days are like this – and these are the occasions whereby we really should make that bit of effort to try the K Beauty method. Believe me, your skin will thank you. Obviously, there is quite a bit to the 10-step process, so I have spread the information over 3 articles. Part 1 covers preparation: double cleansing, exfoliation and toning.
1.Double Cleansing

In order for any of your beauty ingredients to work effectively, it is imperative to cleanse. I know, it’s a pain (especially when you get home in the wee small hours and crashing on your bed is all you can think of). If there’s one thing Korean beauty enthusiasts are doing better, it’s the double cleanse. Opt for a foam or gel cleanser (with ph of around 5.5) for ridding environmental pollutants without stripping the skin. I love Sulwhasoo Snowise Gentle Cleansing Foam £37.89 (200ml), Amazon.
As the years pile up on our faces (in a Victorian-esque library fashion) we may crave for our skin to feel a little tighter – but when we experience this after cleansing it is not a good thing! Behold, one of the best cleansers around. Combining duckweed and chestnut shell extracts together with Korean herbs, this super-velvety cleanser offers exceptional results without irritating the skin. This South Korean brand’s cleanser makes your skin look and feel like a dream. Suitable for use during both am and pm, following your oil cleanser.
The Oil Cleanser

To successfully diminish superficial impurities and all makeup, you need a good oil-based cleanser. For this, why not try DHC Deep Cleansing Oil, £19.80 (120ml), Amazon?
Loaded with both antioxidants and vitamins, this superior cleansing oil makes light work of clearing away makeup and impurities, whilst simultaneously providing optimal hydration and nourishment. YAASS!
2.Exfoliate People!

Always remember to exfoliate – but never overdo this process and it is worth bearing in mind that those with sensitive skin or with more mature skin types should keep this step to perhaps twice per week. Additionally, veer towards AHA exfoliators (such as glycolic or lactic acid) or BHAs (like salicylic acid) rather than more abrasive options. I love TonyMoly Floria Brightening Peeling Gel, $13.50 (5 fl oz) Amazon. This little gem keeps the blackheads and dead skin at bay, transforming dry or dull skin into a complexion that boasts luminous radiance.
3.Don’t Forget The Toner

Toner has had a bad rap of recent years and is often the forgotten product. Not so, if you are a K Beauty fan. The importance of this product should never be underestimated.
A good toner will not only help in restoring your skin’s pH balance (goodbye forever dry skin) but some also supercharge your skin with nutrients, even out tone, reduce pore size and fully prepare your skin for optimal absorption of your skincare ingredients. Try Benton Aloe BHA Skin Toner, £14.49 , Amazon.
