The Oscars: Discover The Latest A-Lister Facial Beauty Treatments

Hey Lovelies!

I can’t believe it’s come around so quickly, but on February 25th the world will be watching as A-listers make their way to the highly anticipated 91st Academy Awards ceremony, otherwise known as the Oscars. Each year, celebrities seek-out the latest facial beauty treatments to ensure they stun on the night. Check out some of the amazing (and unbelievably costly) beauty procedures celebs undergo to make sure they are red carpet ready. Sadly, for us mere mortals, flawless certainly comes with a hefty price tag).

1.LED Facial And Light Therapies, Cost Varies Considerably Depending On Clinics.

LED facials are ever-growing in popularity – so I’m thinking they work quite well. Utilising wavelengths of light, these facials are touted for successfully healing, treating and rejuvenating the skin. Whether you are looking to diminish acne and pigmentation, or simply want a firmer, more plump and luminous complexion, LED facials are fast, non-invasive treatments that promise excellent results. (The Kardashians are said to be huge fans).

One of the newest trends is to have what is known as a Hybrid Energy Lift (£6000 available at Harrods). This method of facial rejuvenation involves using ultrasound, infrared, light and laser in one single session to stimulate collagen reduction and treat all layers of the face. Wow!

2.Oxygen Mist Facial, From £200

So many celebrities love this procedure and after hearing Gwyneth Paltrow is a huge fan (and seeing a recent picture of her clear and dewy complexion) I will be booking an appointment for this ASAP! N.B: Apparently Madonna and Kim Kardashian own an Oxygen Facial machine – and if I had a spare £15,000 so would i!

This facial actually makes a lot of sense. Oxygen is needed for the body’s cells to work at optimal level. The procedure is basically being blasted in the face by pure oxygen. Not only does this improve hydration, reduce pore size and diminish toxins, but it also involves administering high-performance skincare products that are then absorbed that much better, achieving incredible results and undeniable radiance.

3.Non-Surgical Blepharoplasty, From £1000.

This procedure is performed to reduce the appearance of hooded or droopy eyelids and may well be a popular  choice when preparing for the Oscars. Often using nano plasma technology, the treatment is delivered to the superficial skin cells and can reduce excess skin on both the upper and lower eyelids and can also reduce any excess skin around the eyes, so crow’s feet are diminished too.

4.Microneedling, From £300

Although this treatment isn’t new, it remains a hit for many and is bound to be one of the favoured beauty procedures pre-Oscar night. It consists of puncturing the skin with many tiny holes to trigger the skin’s own healing response, thus increasing the production of collagen and elastin. This effectively delivers a more plump and youthful complexion (and it isn’t as painful as it sounds). Great microneedling pens are also available to buy (see image above) and are a fab investment if you adhere to the instructions.

5.The Penis Facial, £500.

If you thought the Vampire facial was freaky (I’ve actually tried this, and it is), then check out the latest beauty treatment loved by Cate Blanchett and Kate Beckinsale – behold the Penis Facial. The proper name given for this facial – to make it sound a little less gruesome than reality dictates – is the EGF (Epidermal Growth Factor Serum) and is made from cells cloned from new-born foreskins. Ugh! This costly hour-long procedure consists of cleansing, followed by a chemical peel, electrifying mask, during which the serum and a few peptides are applied via a microneedling wand. Probably the grossest way of spending £500 in an hour.

6.Ruby And Diamond Facial, £7000

Allegedly loved by Mila Kunis (and for some reason I can’t quite fathom, not many other people), this insane treatment is referred to as an HD Diamond and Ruby Peel. It involves putting an ice cube (or two) in your mouth and sucking it to reduce the ensuing inflammation of having these precious stones rubbed all over your face. Hmmm. Not so sure about this one!

Have you heard of any other new facial treatments or tried any of the above procedures? Let me know your thoughts.

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!xx
