For many of us pores are like a living HELL. We can get our makeup looking perfect – but if the pesky pores remain visible the only option is a selfie filter (which doesn’t go that far to help when we are about to meet that hot date IRL).
So, for the sake of all like-minded and like-suffering pore-hating people out there, here is a collection of THE best pore-concealing primers around:
1.Hourglass Veil Mineral Primer Spf15, £20 – £28, SpaeNK
Best for: All skin types, Particularly Sensitive / Acne-prone skin and large pores
Due to its actual effectiveness, this award-winning primer is quickly gaining a cult following. Veil does everything a primer is supposed to – and then some. It’s mattifying properties successfully minimizes the appearance of pores, fine lines and even redness (this primer is a dream for those with acne-prone and sensitive skin).
Furthermore, this little gem of a primer even caters for our sunscreen requirements as it contains titanium and zinc oxide. Veil’s beautifully lightweight formula means no clogging and a gorgeous velvety application. Conclusion: I may marry this primer!
2.Too Faced Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer, £24, Debenhams
Combination skin, fine lines and large pores
This primer is every bit as good as the last and works on every skin type, especially combination skin. Should your skin suffer from the same pore-ravaged fate as mine, this primer might just change your life. It tackles and fills the largest of pores with ease without worrying about dry or oily areas. Better yet, Too Faced has combined antioxidants, vitamins and a dollop of retinol for good measure. The results are firmer, hydrated, protected, smoother…oh and poreless-looking skin. Bea-utiful!
3.Benefit, The POREfessional Face Primer, £26, Boots & benefitcosmetics.com
Normal to combination – larger pores
Benefit’s POREfessional is a great primer in the fight against unsightly pores and signs of aging. It is soo lightweight and super-absorbent, also offering the free-radical fighting vitamin E to keep your complexion healthy and protected, too. Providing a matte finish, this primer works little miracles in the war against the dreaded pore.
4.If You Can Wait – The New Pearl Professional Primer by Benefit Out in Jan 18
Touted for being the next best primer…in the world, benefit’s Pearl Professional Primer will hit our shelves in January 2018. Reminder, check!
5.Urban Decay Optical Illusion Pore Perfecting Complexion Primer, £23, http://www.urbandecay.co.uk
Urban Decay is much-loved for its highly beneficial products and the Optical Illusion Pore Perfecting Primer is no exception. This all-singing, all-dancing stuff of dreams gets to work to blur away lines and pores then leaving your complexion looking matte and Insta-ready. Hooray!
Have you got a fave primer for banishing those wretched pores? xx
