‘Tech neck’ or ‘text neck’ is the term used to describe not simply pain but also the horizontal lines acquired from spending hours looking down at your laptop or phone. For those of you (like me) whose job it is to stare at the computer screen for hours on end, read on. This article will give you advice on the best sheet masks to overcome tech neck syndrome.
1.Oh, K Firming Tech Neck Targeted Mask, £12, www.lookfantastic.com
Aging may be a sad fact of life – but there’s no way we are going to accept its presence on our skin prematurely, right? Too much screen use doesn’t just damage our eyes, but it can also trigger the much-feared neck wrinkles. Gulp. Don’t fret, awesome Korean skincare brand Oh K has created a true hero sheet mask to help us fend off the day we look in the mirror and then promptly faint. This vegan mask is brimming with avocado extract, that firms, hydrates and encourages elasticity. Phew.
2.Talika Bioenzymes Mask, Neck, £7,60 (25g), www.lookfantastic.com
Another stand-out sheet mask is this one. Combining an 100% natural bio-cellulose mask (often used following surgery to speed up repair), this mask offers fast and super-efficient absorption of the antioxidant-rich ingredients. These components include 16-plant complex and 6 active ingredients like hyaluronic acid and aloe. Expect, firmer, smoother and younger-looking skin; a face and neck of which you will be proud.
3.TonyMoly Master Lab EGF Sheet Mask, $4, www.amazon.com
When it comes to repairing wrinkles on the skin and neck, check out products that contain EGF as this has been shown to promote elasticity. This incredible sheet mask by innovative Korean brand, TONYMOLY combines a plethora of highly effective ingredients designed to target and treat those wrinkles and pesky tech neck. The mask includes hyaluronic acid, vitamin C, hydrating water type formula snail mucin, ceramides, moisturising serum and caviar. This mask is also available in the UK via www.cultbeauty.co.uk
4.Rodial Neck Mask Single, £10, www.lookfantastic.com
I must admit I was a little dubious about this mask’s potential for success, given the key ingredient is Syn-Ake Dipeptide. This is a component I know little about, but it is said to mimic the freezing effect of viper venom in order to achieve a firmer and more lifted result. However, I am aware of what a good brand Rodial is, therefore quite willing to give this a try. I was not disappointed. You can actually feel the mask working its magic. The outcome is a noticeably improved and tighter looking neck area. Take note though – whilst the results are awesome, this and all the other sheet masks do not offer a permanent solution. The results only last a couple of days. Therefore, should you want a more permanent outcome, you should be looking to do the neck and chin tightening exercises featured in my other article (click here).
Additionally, laser treatments can ward off the aging process for a satisfactory amount of time (although this does come with a hefty price tag).
